Have you ever walked into a place and knew it was going to be a bad experience? Well, during my aunts funeral a few weeks ago, it was very hot inside the building. We looked for someone to speak too. No one could be found.

One of our family members went to the Convenient Store on 140 to get some bottles of water. The funeral director was there visiting with the locals. My cousins asked if he would please come back to turn the air conditioning on. He said, "I can come back, but ain't got a a/c yet, that is why we do not have the lights all on!" He turned and began talking to the locals again.

At the end of the very long 2 hours of literal "sweat and tears". We decided to leave...still no one around.

Upon our arrival the next morning, 30 minutes prior to the funeral home opening up to the public, we found the doors to be locked. Rang the bell, no answer. Called the Funeral Home, someone answered who was still half asleep. Waited another 15 minutes called again and it was a busy signal. 18 minutes after the morning visitation was to begin, Mr. Davis showed up. He said "My son was supposed to open up, I go to breakfast at McDonald's every morning, he knows that."

We walked in, still hot, a dog was running around and less than 4 feet from the casket the dog had defacated right in front of the casket. The old man walked right by it. He turned on a few lights and disappeared. There were no chairs set up, just what had been sitting there the night before. Finally, one of my family members went and found a bag and cleaned up the fecal matter.

The minister came to us, said "most funeral directors tell me when to start, have you all seen him or her?" We walked outside, once again, he was talking to some men. We asked him what we were supposed to do. He turned and looked at the men and said "They expect a lot!"

Yes, we certainly do, we paid over $9,000 7 years ago for this funeral.

Finally the "Jack", the funeral director came over to us. I told him exactly what we expect. He told me to "calm down this is not a big city, families do their own thing, that's how we keep our expenses down." I reminded him of the cost of this funeral. He shrugged it off.

Our family stood for the funeral, the minister was polite by keeping it short. As we took her to the hearse, it was so dirty someone had finger written on the side "WASH ME!!" on the back it said "LIVE 4 DIRT" with a tombstone drawn on the back door.

We put her in and after 20 minutes of sitting in our cars, which were not flagged or put in any order for procession, Jack had flagged down a woman in a van to jump start the hearse. When we finally arrived the short distance to the cemetery, he left the hearse running. We could barely hear the minister over the engine noise. As the preacher said "Amen" in his final prayer, the motor stopped. Jack turned and looked at the old Cadillac and said "Damnit to hell!"

We were leaving the cemetery, everyone had to back out of the cemetery. Jack was asking our family to give him a ride back to the funeral home. Each one of us walked away, I stopped and told him the 33 people whose back were towards us, did exactly to him what he had done for us.

As my wife and I got into our car, watched as they put the lid on the vault, not knowing what this man was capable of doing if it was not on; I told her "I am calling the licensing board as soon as I can." When I called The Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers we were informed, that Mr. Davis is NOT a funeral director nor an embalmer any longer. They asked several questions about who met with us for arrangements, who was listed on the death certificate as the embalmer, the funeral director, etc. Still to this day, we have yet to be provided any documentation from the Funeral Home as we have asked multiple time for.

One star is an far reaching OVERSTATEMENT of our satisfaction!
